One of the things I look for while visiting a place is a spot to peacefully watch sunsets. Especially the ones overlooking a water body. But let me tell you, finding one such spot while traveling along an east-facing coastline is a herculean task.
I spent the long weekend in Batemans Bay, a beautiful coastal town on the southern coast of New South Wales, about 300 km from Sydney. Along with walking near the riverside, visiting Mogo village and eating loads of fish and chips, I spent a good chunk of the daylight zooming into Google Maps, trying to find a beachside that faces west and would have an unhindered view of the iconic Clyde river bridge as well as a sunset.
I did find a spot but was still unsure if it was the right vantage point as the whole area on both sides of the bridge was under construction.

But all my doubts went away when I saw the water turn golden as the sun prepared to go down the horizon, which was then followed by a mad rush of pink and purple.

Gorgeous sunsets. Sunsets over water are the best and I so enjoy seeing sunsets from parts of the world I may never be able to get to.
Beautiful photos! Sunsets always look so extra special when reflected on the water.
What a stunning skyline, Raj. Must be such a gift to witness. Like I said in my #WW post, the best things in life are free. 🙂
