10 on 10 – Short Sad Poems

I have always believed that poetry is the language of the heart. The words have never failed me before, but now, often I end up grasping at the threads of imagination. Holding on to the last of syllables. These letters are trying to slip away from my clasp. Is my heart slowly, painlessly, forgetting how to talk?ย

It was my desire to revive my dormant poetry blog this year, but with so many projectsย that I am currently working on,ย the task is quite challenging. So here I am, writing short poems and rewriting some old ones, to get back on my Poetry Wagon. I sincerely hope that you will like them. ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. I loved all of them, Raj. This is motivating me to write poems after-awhile, too. You should write poetry more often. I would love to read it. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Very evocative, Raji. It’s time to start writing poetry again, for sure. Would love to read more. I especially like ‘Chandelier’.
PS: Is there anything you can’t do brilliantly? โ™ฅ

  3. I love your poems and I’m so happy to see you writing them again! They are beautiful and each one evokes sadness and gives me goosebumps. Keep writing poetry; I love reading it

  4. These are really nice. Short, simple and meaningful. if you don’t find time to write full-fledged posts, you can do these poem images on the lines of what Saru does and then share them on your blog/insta etc.

  5. if this is how you write without being in form, Raji, I think you’ll make me speechless with what will come out when you are in form. ๐Ÿ™‚ it has happened before, with your shape poetry.

  6. Hi Sunjhini,
Lovely, spontaneous thoughts, weaved well into poetry…I wouldn’t call them sad as, they depict the visage of life in its most natural way. ๐Ÿ™‚
Just stumbled upon a tweet and clicked on it to read more.

  7. I can’t pick a favourite. Chandelier, probably. You should do these more because I haven’t had a chance to read one of your poems for a long time now. Do it more. ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. I guess the Herat does grow numb! A great collection!
I remember as a little girl I wrote a poem on a bird!
And it went for the school magazine!!!!
Anywyas, what I was saying is that your lines are so good, I would love to write similarly! ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
