Purple Sunset at Racecourse Beach | Ulladulla | Australia

Continuing from my previous post on my last beach vacation, and stunning sunrise – Sunrise at Ulladulla Beach. After two days of relentless rain, the clouds finally parted in the evening. Together with my friends, I made a beeline to the beach, hoping to catch a sunset. No trip feels complete without watching a sunset. The beach (called the Racecourse Beach) was only 100 meters from our accommodation.

A flight of wooden stairs led us to the rocky entrance of the beach. From there, we walked across the slippery surface and stepped onto the 1.3 km long beach, the waves crashing against the rocks, creating mini waterfalls in a few spots.

Racecourse Beach is popular among the locals for surfing, sunbathing, or simply for a lovely walk with family and pets. It is less crowded than some of the other beaches in the area.

One of my favorite things to capture is the reflection of the sky on the sand as the waves flow away. It mirrors the clouds and the colors so beautifully.

Since one of my friends was carrying her 9-month-old baby, we didn’t walk too far away from the beach house. We stayed near the cliffs, enjoying the slow ebb and flow of the waves as the cool breeze washed over us. So therapeutic.

Soon, the western sky was ablaze with golden and orange hues, while the eastern sky softened in purple and pink shades.

The color of the sky changes so quickly, from marigold to deep tangerine.

After enjoying nature’s beautiful display, we made our way back to the beach house and treated ourselves to a comforting hot cup of coffee.
