This April, I’m participating in the April A to Z Blogging Challenge with a creative twist -learning and sharing Zentangle patterns! Each day, I’ll explore a new pattern, uncovering its beauty and include it in my zentangle inspired artwork. At the end of the challenge, I hope to have a completed artwork with all the patterns I learned in this challenge. Join me on this artistic journey as I embrace mindfulness, creativity, and the joy of tangling!
Zentangle patterns can be geometric or organic. Common strokes include lines, curves, dots, and squiggles. Patterns can evolve as you draw, with new ideas sparking from your current design. You can combine different patterns and make a unique design. Start slow and focus on one pattern at a time. Don’t worry about perfection; Zentangle is about the process. If you make a mistake, turn it into part of the design.
Day 4 of Challenge – D for ‘Dillo
‘Dillo by Lori Manoogian, is a cute little tangle pattern that sort-of looks like an Armadillo. I love the symmetry and how the repeated pattern can be drawn in so many ways. It can even turn into a lovely floral pattern.

Here’s a quick video on how I drew ‘Dillo Tangle pattern.
This is how I included it in my Zentangle-inspired artwork.

Looks like these definitely need a lot of skill to create…not easy for all of us, I must say, even if you seem to make it so easy!! 🙂
Not zentangle but talented pen/ink drawing. Check out my grandson – he is amazing! https://www.instagram.com/mattemuns.studio/
It looks like this could be very relaxing, hypnotic even.
