Inside my Book Box, Goodies And Reading Goals

During the initial week of December, I found myself not feeling quite well, and I needed something uplifting to brighten my spirits. Fortunately or unfortunately, it seems that the algorithm managing Instagram advertisements has flawlessly tapped into my thoughts and preferences. It showed exactly what I wanted.

I had always yearned for ordering mystery boxes – the ones filled with munchies, goodies, and maybe a mystery item. When my feed showed an advertisement unveiling Book Box, a charming Australian venture that curates book boxes based on a questionnaire, I didn’t think twice before navigating to their website. I opted for a preloved book instead of a new one and was fervently hoping that the questionnaire would help them pick a book according to my literary tastes.

The box arrived in about 2 weeks. Oh my God, my happiness knew no bounds as soon as I opened the box. Felt like Christmas arrived early. The box was filled with tasty treats, vibrant stickers, bookmarks, a cute pair of socks, a christmas’sy notebook, and the book – Before You Knew My Name by Jacqueline Bublitz, a promise to fuel my commitment to devouring 30 books this year.

Have a look at what was inside my book box.

Tasty Treats – The slice bars were delicious. T2 is one of my favorite tea brands in Australia. The Jasmine Green tea smelled so good. Loved sipping it in the evening while devouring a book. I probably finished all of this in 2 days.

I am looking forward to using the bath bomb. My son and I both enjoyed the hot chocolate. Also, check out the cute pair of socks!

Notebook, stickers, and bookmarks. If you know me, then you can guess my favorite items were stickers. Won’t they be perfect for my poetry journal pages!

Last week, I finished reading Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. A cosmic odyssey that took me to Tau Ceti, a single star system similar to ours – 12 light years away, an unlikely companion that would help the protagonist find a solution to save two worlds. If you enjoyed Martian, you would enjoy this book too.

I have started reading two other books this week, trying to get as much reading done in the daylight. Keeping a goal to read at least 10 pages every day. Please do suggest some of your favorite reads in 2023.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

  1. Wow! The Book Box showered you with so many goodies! I can imagine how happy you must’ve been to get your hands on one!
This month I read 3 and a half books to my surprise. I loved The Help among those three and a half. 🙂

  2. The book box sounds so lovely!! Totally tempted to go for one seeing the fabulous collection of accessories, though!! 🙂

  3. That book box is gorgeous. I agree it would have felt like Christmas came early – so many goodies. I have always wanted to subscribe to a book box but I’m wary of the book selection. I did try one for the children when they were younger and they quite loved it. Maybe some day I’ll try one too.

  4. I’ve always wanted to try a book box, especially with so many of them being available here, but I’m not sure I’ll want to read all or most of the books they send. The bookish accessories they send are fabulous though.

Let’s keep the conversation flowing!
