Sakura Densya Book Nook Diorama| 3D DIY

I saw the advertisement for Sakura Densya Book Nook Diorama on Instagram for the first time. It looked gorgeous with a tinge of magic. Perfect for my bookshelf. It is a Diorama – a 3D miniature model of a beautiful Japanese Street. The model even has a cat sitting on the window. How ridiculously adorable!

This Book nook is a DIY 3D puzzle that you put together on your own. The package came with over 200 pieces.

The wooden pieces came in flat pack wooden sheets. The package has a booklet with instructions and diagrams. These instructions are pretty easy to follow. Some of the pieces are really small and delicate, so I had to pull them out gently.

I loved building the Sakura tree. It looked so pretty. I also accidentally broke the trunk while putting it in the gap and had to use superglue to fix it.

Most of the pieces fit into each other perfectly, some have to be glued together. The package also comes with glue so you don’t have to worry about buying one.

I got a little confused about connecting the wires and figured that out by watching a youtube tutorial. I didn’t want my board to shortcircuit or anything. The model requires 2 AAA batteries. The package doesn’t contain batteries.

I had a hard time keeping them all together until the last big pieces were stuck together. My clumsy fingers kept knocking off something or the other.

The final look. I was over the moon to see it on my bookshelf.

There’s a small switch on the lower right side of the model which can be turned on and off by touch. It turns on two tiny bulbs inside.

  1. WOW! This looks amazing, Raji! Everything must have been so tiny… how did you put it all together so deftly! I mean it’s got an AC outdoor unit as well, and actual lights! Just WOW! Sure must have been a LOT of fun putting it together!
