Floral Drawing Tutorial | Black pen Artwork

Hope you are having a fabulous start to the new year. I am sure many of us are brimming with motivation and extra zeal to build projects and set new goals. I always get over-ambitious when creating my vision board. This year, I plan to create at least 12 A4-size artworks. Given my daily work and other hobbies, this is a huge task. So here I am, ushering into the new year with a floral drawing tutorial of my latest artwork.

I started this drawing in December, and as usual, I drew either at night or on weekends after my little boy had slept. It has been a while since I drew something of this size. Needs a lot of time and commitment when compared to making bookmarks.

Below are the progress pictures of the floral artwork. I share short drawing videos on Instagram too, where you can get a glimpse of my drawing progress. I don’t have a proper setup to take videos yet. Hopefully, this is something I can work on this year.

I used Uni Pin and Micron pens, ranging from 0.1 to 0.4 .

I love looking at the before and after pictures of artwork. How they evolve with time and patience. Reinforcing my belief to trust the process and keep going. To not give up even when you mess up something. Broken lines are beautiful too.

I draw freely with my heart. Imperfect circles or asymmetrical patterns don’t bother me much. In fact, my little one even scribbled a bit on this design. If I think too much, then I won’t be able to draw.

I wish you all a very happy new year. Be kind to yourself when setting goals. And don’t forget to enjoy the process.
