I have waited far too long | Short Poem about Life

Will I keep finding you
in the purple silence of sunsets
Or on nights when the sky
is swollen with stars

will I be swept away
like a wisp of dandelion
by the reckless summer breeze

I have waited far too long
on these magnolia stained pavements
fighting monsters in the daylight
so don’t sigh when I romanticise
the whispers in the dark
they sing old broken songs
they sing me lullabies

  1. Wonderful choice of words. Even though it’s deep it’s easy to read. I’m absolutely in love with your word selection!
