Floral Illustrations
June is over and I don’t even remember when it began. Things have been going at a breakneck speed for the past two months. Fixing severity one issues at work, late nights and production support. Sometimes my tea goes cold and lunch half eaten, but I love the challenge my job brings. More often than not, I would be solving one thing or the other. It sure keeps things exciting in the otherwise unadventurous desk job 🙂
This floral illustration was made last month, usually after work or during weekends, when I would take out my pencil colors, spread it on my table and go coloring. Frankly, I didn’t have a plan or idea on how it would look like in the end. The only thing I wanted to do was make an artwork completely with pencil colors.
I drew a rough sketch of the drawing with my Unipen, which I usually use to draw zentangles.
And then started coloring. 🙂
And here’s the final look. Let me know what you think.

Thank you so much Esha. I actually have slowed down as things are crazy on work front. Took me a couple of weeks complete this one 😊 I just do a whole lot of stuff over the weekends 😀

Thank you so much Rachna. Hehehe I haven’t actually thought about that 😀maybe some day I will print a coloring book 😀
This is beautiful work! Are those Derwent pencils? And did you blend the colors with a blending stump? Love the shading and the color combinations.
Thank you so much. I actually don’t know what pencils they are… Will have to check. I used two different brands. Didn’t use a blending stump, just the pencils 😀 glad you liked them.
