I was in the middle of writing my travelogue on Tasmania Road trip, when the sun induced rashes (Photoallergic eruption) that I had few weeks back started giving me trouble again. So I went to the bathroom, glimpsed at my reflection which made me wonder if the sole purpose of my forehead is to give birth to pimples. While I was applying the ointment on my skin, I had a epiphany. A shiny new topic – Quirky Blog Post Ideas. You life but a bit more Zazzy 😀
So if you are suffering from a writer’s block, read on, you might actually find something interesting to write on. And if you do, please share it in the comment section, I love reading all the quirky stuffs 🙂
Here we go!
Strange noises – I am pretty sure in your life you would have heard noises that either made you scared or really embarrassed. Remember the time when you are in an absolutely quiet room and your tummy decides to make the sound of a whale in heat. The grumbling tummy tales just never seem to end. And a blogger, of course writes all about it. 🙂 Or like the time I actually thought there was a ghost in the pipes of our house.
Hair-y Tales – If you have long hair, write about your struggles with a dash of humour, like your partner’s reaction to find hair all over the carpet and floor (Don’t tell me that never happens). You won’t find hair care tips on my blog, but if you want to know how my mom chased me with a broom for chopping my hip length hair – it’s all there. Or the time I tried to cut my hair following a Youtube tutorial. Thankfully, that did not end up in a disaster.
The Smarty Siblings – Writing about siblings can never go wrong! All siblings have tales that are not just weird but can be downright insane. Like my sister who’s love for 5 kg urea is now world famous 😛 Or The time when she decided to have pet snails and made a collection of skeletons belonging to different species of insects.
Fascinating Travel Tales – Have you ever jumped into river? Ever eaten something that still gave you the creeps? Saw signs that made you raise an eyebrow? Saw a tree full of shoes? Make your travel posts as memorable as they are to you 🙂
Found this tree when we were looking for parking at Sea Cliff Bridge, Sydney
Write about all the new stuffs you did recently! Did you learn something new, a cooking disaster, missed a flight or like me did you spend the New Year’s eve scrubbing the bathroom and chasing lizards from my garden. We had been away for 9 days and arrived right before the New Year day. The house was in dire need of some mopping, I needed clothes that did not have sand in its folds and the plants in the garden were probably breathing their last in the harsh Sydney summer. I guess that’s what you call “adulting”. As I sprayed some more Dettol on the floor, the idea to write about The Night Before New Year came to me. Though, I haven’t written it yet.
Fitness Failures – Haven’t we all gone through that? Do planks leave you flat on the ground, breathing dust! Ever fallen out of handstands and crashed into a chair? Did an ice cream tempt you out of your diet? Are you are ‘beginner’ runner and feel like your lungs are ready to collapse? Don’t be scared to share your imperfect stories.
This year I will be completing 10 years of blogging. And my most favourite posts are the ones that are simply not normal! They are the ones I still go back and read. And laugh too. These are stories that most readers connected to and in turn shared their own tales. The stories about my siblings are my most cherished ones because it reminds of a time I can’t go back to now. They are like albums but only with words. So create your own quirky blogpost. Someday it is going to make you smile.
I love your quirky tales, Raj. They are hilarious. The stomach rumbles happen at awful times, so embarrassing! Keep’em coming Raj, the quirky posts I mean, not the tummy noises. 😉 Waiting to read what happened on the night before new year. 🙂
Haha…wonderful ideas! I have seen the tree with thongs as I parked near it a couple of years ago doing the same as you.
I liked all the quirky ideas. I will surely come back again to this post whenever I get short of ideas. I have quite a few of my baking disaster stories. I just can’t bake.
Congratulations for 10 years of blogging. And I am sure quirky ideas, such as the ones you have enumerated here and the new ones which you will be getting, will keep this Destiny’s Child buzzing with activity for long.
ha ha! Only you can think of such quirky posts and ideas. So much fun to read. The noises? Well, what to say 😉
You have one of the whackiest sense of humour and I still remember reading the Urea blog as one of the first ones I read of yours – it tickled me to death. I can never cut my hair watching you tube tutorials- hats off to you for that for sure! Thank you for making me laugh so much! 🙂
These are great posts! I love how fun these blog post are and can be relatable!
These are really cute and quirky blog topics. I would love to hear posts about hearing strange noises. I have plenty of strange noise stories to tell myself lol. Great post!
Ten years! May you write for many more years!
Hahaha, now I know your inspiration behind your posts 😀
Quirky, you bet!
Every topic you mentioned is so YOU, Raj! And, I know, you can do justice to each topic here, because you have your funny bones in place! 😀 You are Miss Funny Bones, Part two! 😛
