Zentangle Inspired Art – Florals

I am back with another Zentangle inspired artwork, with lots of florals. I find myself drawing these a lot now. And as usual,Β  I am sharing the step by step pictures as well.

Items used – Unipen .2 and .4, glitter gel pens for eyes,Β  pencil and a rubber. And my drawing book. See you don’t need much. 😊 If you are good at drawing,Β  you don’t even need a pencil or rubber.

I first made an outline with the pencil. Just a random shape that I would be filling in.Β  It took me a lot of time to get the lips right though.Β  I have a hard time drawing a face.Β  I look up tutorials on Pinterest to figure out the easiest way to draw lips and eyes.

My friend thinks that the black pattern in below picture looks like Ninja eyes. Do you see Ninja eyes too? πŸ˜…

I have a fascination towards anime eyes,Β  and the more colorful they are,Β  the better. πŸ˜€

And here it is,Β  ignore the lips πŸ™ˆ Adding a pen in the picture to give you a measure of the size of this drawing.

  1. I love how consistently you persist till you get a thing just right. The designs are lovely, especially loved the intricate patterns in her hair. And the eyes – they are something else. πŸ˜›

  2. I look forward to your art series as they are so delightful; you surprise me everytime with your creativity Raj! This one is stunning too; if you are unhappy with the lips -practice some and try to make them fuller – disney like πŸ˜‰

    1. Yeah I will try that next… I just can’t seem to get it right πŸ™ˆ thank you so much for your comments… Always brings a smile 😊

    1. Thank you so much. I am glad you liked them. Unipen is a brand of pens that are usually used to make fine drawings. The other popular brand is Micron. The pens come in various sizes… From very thin .05 to thick .8. Depending on the drawing you can switch between pens.

    1. I use unipen of different tips. You can even use Micron if you find them. They are good for drawing these patterns. Thank you. πŸ˜€

  3. This is wonderful, Raj! I really like the flowery hair πŸ™‚ Indeed like Shailaja says your persistence and multiple talents are admirable. And the eyes are also kind of nice too! But for me the flowers steal show πŸ™‚

  4. There should be a β€˜love’ or β€˜WOW’ button on WordPress πŸ™‚

These look spectacular. I admire your persistence and your constant need to learn and tweak concepts, be it art or yoga. It’s wonderful to see that you are so good at something and are yet always open to learn. I loved the eyes. Yes, they do look like ninja eyes in the black and white one! And the lips look fine to me πŸ˜‰
