My theme for this year’s #atozchallenge is – 26 Yogasana. So brace yourself for 26 days of stretching, backbends and inversions, as I take you along my upside down evenings, sincerely hoping that you will find these posts helpful 🙂
Today, I am sharing with you some of my Yoga transformation – “before and after” pictures. It is only two and half years since I started practicing Yoga diligently, and I have so much more to learn and understand. And yet I feel I have benefitted immensely in this short journey. Each day I learn the lesson of patience and persistence – no, one can’t just give up. This journey has ket my ego in check, as I fall and stumble, in the same pose I could do perfectly the previous day. It’s a humbling journey 🙂
As I have mentioned before too, handstands were really tough. From practicing between doorways to now being able to hold against the wall 😀
Lord of the Dance Pose/ Natrajasana
I could a difference in my hip flexibility but my back still needs a lot of work 🙂
Eight Angle Pose/ Astavakrasana
This one’s always a killer, the flexibility in my legs and hips makes it easier to straighten my leg now, but I still can’t hold it for long. And I just realized that I need to buy a new pair of leggings 😛
From not being able to lift my back at all, I can now do the One legged wheel pose with much more comfort than before. Wheel Pose is still something I am not yet too comfortable with. It is one those asanas that I always think twice before attempting, and never without a good warm up.
Forearm Stand/ Pincha Mayurasana
The elusive forearm stand – then and now.
This was one of my Yoga goals for this year and I was over the moon when I was finally able to transtition into one.
