My theme for this year’s #atozchallenge is – 26 Yogasana. So brace yourself for 26 days of stretching, backbends and inversions, as I take you along my upside down evenings, sincerely hoping that you will find these posts helpful 🙂
Natrajasana or Lord of the Dance
I find this pose very musical and graceful. It’s like you are in the middle of a dance sequence, on the beats of a classical number. As a beginner, I found balancing in Natrajasana very difficult. Practicing with the support of the wall has helped me to be more stable and engaged. Like most of the balancing poses, you need to be mindful of your gaze. Calm your mind, look straight, breathe normally and then try to lift your leg.

I can do this one but can’t really stand for long. I’m impressed by your balance.
Every Pose is classical in yoga. Sthiram , sukkam , asanam. You are doing well.
Hi Raji, what a graceful pose! I am trying to get into a home practice after a lapse of over 12 years. I am going to follow your blog & begin my practice with thinhs I learn from you.
Thank Goodness! I used to do this when I practiced Bharatnatyam back in those days Oh, I miss how flexible my body was. 🙁 Should do something about it, don’t you think? Sigh!
How you manage to balance your weight so well. Standing on a single leg is not easy and needs lots of practice. Spellbound by your Yoga skills.
Interesting post, enjoyed a lot

Oh I love this pose and it looks easy too. As a dancer, I am surely going to try it and I like the name too.
Another great. It reminded me of one of the main Kannasa of Bharatnatyam, I found difficult to master in childhood😊
Cheers
Truly Yours Roma
O yes! I’ve done this one! Damn! I feel I too should get it clicked!
Cheers
This looks a little like bharathanatyam, isn’t it? No wonder the name. And Raj, really how do you manage to do all these asanas so easily?
Agree.. it is truly graceful.
You make it look graceful, Raji. 🙂 I’d mostly fall flat on my face. No balance or flexibility to bend that way.
This is something I am tempted to try. That hand against the wall is a good tip. Not that I will come anywhere close to your level of rubberiness but I shall try 😉
