I along with my teammates went for an outing – a 2 day trip to Wayanad.
You can guess how exotic and bewitching that place is… its just like my hometown… the mountains, zig zag roads , the house structure and even the vegetation is similar… I felt as if my home was just round the corner…
Even though I became a victim of motion sickness (which resulted in disposal of loads of covers 😛 ) , I enjoyed the trip … but even today the picture of the bus makes me throw up and I get the same head –spinning feeling… (I had to fight my headache to take these snaps 😛 well I didnt want to miss anything :))
On the first day we went for trekking to Meenmutty waterfalls… and man!!!! what a trekking it was… if we had travelled little more we certainly would have reached Lakswadeep… if not definitely the center of earth… it was around 2+ hour trek… going down the mountain… slippery 1 foot wide path… walking with the help of ropes… and the tour guides had a lot of trouble in keeping us on the right track (there were only two choice to be on track… either we walk the long way or tumle down along the mountains):P..
Finally we reached the waterfalls… majestic and magnificent … but too dangerous to be viewed from close proximity or so they said 😀 ….
So again we trekked… to a smaller waterfall… with heart threatening to hammer out of chest… every iota of energy drained out… literally crawling on four… with a 5 kg backpack… stopping every 30 sec for a breath and a bread… we reached the little waterfall… Sorry no photographs of the waterfall’let … I was so exhausted that the only thing I did was jump into it … As the cool refreshing water touched me… I got my life back …
Again we trekked back … amongst the coffee bean and black pepper plants … to reach the bus … The images of the lovely mountains and beautiful sceneries are still engraved in my mind…

Loved the pics but if waterfall would've been there too, it would have been a bliss…but this is awesome and added on my travel planner. Thanks for sharing it.

Wayanad is the green paradise – the border world of the greener part of Kerala.Situated not far from Calicut or the city of Zamorins, Wayanad is a world apart from Keralas agricultural and industrial epicentres. It is a quiet place where scenic beauty, wild life and tradition matter, simplicity is a virtue and beauty still blossoms from the mountainous horizon and from the green glaze of alluring vegetation. Clean and pristine, enchanting and hypnotizing, this land has a history and mystery, culture and social epistemology yet to be discovered.
Living in the next district,
Wayanad will and always will remain awesome 🙂
