Throwback : Don’t Laugh ok!! #atozchallenge

A Whimsical Medley – Is my theme for the A to Z Challenge !! Hope you smile today 🙂
*****************

I always have a good laugh while flipping through my decade old photos, when I was this naive pencil-heel-thin girl with extremely long hair. As a matter of fact, all people ever noticed about me was my hair. Those were the days when my Mom had tied Babaji-blessed threads around various parts of my body – wrists, waist, neck, ankle, in hope that probably it would line all the planets in proper positions so that I would gain some weight.

I was a 161 cm 37 kg walking talking ‘Peeple ka ped‘ and the only weight I gained was due to the number of colorful threads tied on me. And of course, a healthy growth of meter long hair (yes I measured) 🙂

2008 -2009 … Damn I swear I used to eat Amul Butter and Cheese

2011 and Present… Sigh I miss the jawline 😛
Never did I imagine that 10 years later I would be 15 kgs heavier, struggling to keep my weight in check. The T-shirts I wore in college now don’t even fit my 13 year old cousin 😛

I was a very happy and energetic person then and I am glad that this hasn’t changed over the years.

Along with ClaireParul and Shalini we have formed an Unconventional Alliance with A to Z co-host Pam Margolis as the ring leader … all set to rock the party.

  1. I was 45 kgs until I was 25 years old! I was 5.6" tall and super skinny. People thought my parents weren't feeding me enough. I cringe when I look at those pictures now.

Then hormone imbalance struck and I gained 15 kilos overnight! Since I'm tall I don't look that fat. But yeah I do miss my jawline too 😛

Having said that, I'm more happy and healthy now and that's all that matters!

  2. Blog hopping from North Carolina during the #Challenge. I started WAY down the participant list figuring they wouldn't get as much traffic. I KNOW we would be friends after reading about you. We like the same things etc. Your photographs are lovely as you have looked back through the years. You know the line…grow old along with me, the best is yet to be. It is all out in front of you. Enjoy. I have been writing about hotels and inns, come and have TEA on the letter T day if you have time or interest.

  3. Man you look splendid! And 37kgs!! That's way too less.!
And you had amazing hair! I've never had hair beyond my shoulders 🙁 and I hate that fact!

    Cheers

  4. Was just going through a few photo albums (I was making a greeting card) and I found all these pics of me when I was ten or eleven years old. I looked like an alien back then, thin face and straight hair. And now look at me: puffed up cheeks and curly hair! It's so weird how time changes and how our looks change along with it! 🙂

  5. Very beautiful you look. I was somewhat like you in college. Super thin with very long hair. But now, it is reverse.. Hair has become thinner..and I cannot even discuss the weight.

  6. Hahahaha thats true, most of our friends that times were pencil like thin and we ate almost everything to gain some weight
And now we sometimes need to skip lunch also to be in shape

  7. My God! You are closer to my height but 37 Kgs really in college. I used to hear it a lot about this weight thing in college when I was fluctuating between 47-50 kgs. You look like a school girl in those pictures and now wow! Those and all other pictures of you are absolutely stunning!!!!

  8. I haven't had long hair since high school. Occasionally I'll dream I feel it swishing around against my shoulders and back. I don't miss it. I didn't have thick hair like yours – something worth keeping long 🙂
