A Whimsical Medley – Is my theme for the A to Z Challenge !! Hope you smile today 🙂
*****************
Onee-san (oh-nay-saan) is a Japanese way of calling your elder sister, similar to Didi in Hindi or Baidew in Assamese.
My sister and I absolutely love the Japanese serial – Seigo No Mikata, where the elder sister makes the younger one do all sorts of irritating stuffs, making her run from one end of the city to other. It’s a hilarious drama and if you haven’t watched it yet, well it’s time you do 😀 (All episodes available on Youtube)
My sister perfectly knows how much I love food. Every time there’s a delicious dish laid in front of me, my eyes pop and the tongue rolls out, salivating, smelling, relishing the fragrance of flavours. Not a pretty sight sometimes 😛 Therefore, she never forgets to taunt me with a WhatsApp picture of her dinner, which always looks way better than mine, leaving me hungrier. And to top it all, she is an awesome cook. Damn!!
The other day we were doing video chat and the first thing that popped out of her mouth was – Why do you look so ehhh? Yeah, just like that she bursts my bubble. It’s another thing that my hair was well-oiled and sticking to my scalp, making my forehead look big enough to solve complex differential equations. And I have strong suspicion that my webcam is deliberately exaggerating the pimples on my face. Anyway, I ended up doing a hair tutorial to show her that I always look the best. {sticking my tongue out}
Now that we are all grown up, I am pretty sure she is taking all sorts of revenge one this Onee-san for making her iron the school uniform, immaculately paint my white shoes, bake my birthday cakes and host parties for my friends, for stealing her perfectly hand-washed Lacoste T shirts and blaming the broken vase on her slippery fingers. But in turn she would catch palm size spiders in a bottle and keep it next to my bed 😛
Along with Claire, Parul and Shalini we have formed an Unconventional Alliance with A to Z co-host Pam Margolis as the ring leader … all set to rock the party.
