A Whimsical Medley – Is my theme for the A to Z Challenge !! Hope you smile today 🙂
*****************
I am notorious for multitasking. But with so many tasks to be completed, what else can one do. So while I am listening to Ellen DeGeneres and typing a new Blogpost, in-between folding clothes I keep an ear out for the Pressure Cooker whistle. In the meantime Potato Paneer is in the making, bubbling on the stove. Although most days I manage without major disaster, there are days when the Paneer would get stuck to the pan, or I publish without proof reading.
I am also notorious for setting off the fire alarm. Since most Indian cooking involves preparing a set like Alif Laila, with smoke and fog and all things blurry, even in cruel winters I used to cook with doors and windows wide open, dressed like an eskimo.
During my hostel days, I used be so lost watching Hannah Monatana that I would lose track of the number of whistles. And then I would have to run to my roommate, hoping that atleast she had kept a tab. Although nothing burnt, ever, but there was a day when I forgot to put water in the pan while trying to boil eggs.
Oh was it me or my roommate. Well, we both were the same – incredibly absent minded.
Along with Claire, Parul and Shalini we have formed an Unconventional Alliance with A to Z co-host Pam Margolis as the ring leader … all set to rock the party.

Woah! Boiling eggs without water! That's a new one! 😀
You continue to amuse me and amaze me, Raji! 😀 😀 😀
Loved the Alif Laila analogy!

Too hilarious! And the Gordon meme 😛
I'm guessing that Paneer getting stuck to the pan would be more desirable than a blog post getting published without a proofread!
Amazing post, Rajlakshmi 😉
Thats so like me when it comes to cooking. Enjoyed and it reminded me of some of my disastrous moments with cooking 😀 😀

HiHihi.. I'm giggling like a six year old. 😛
I loved the AlifLaila bit and has to agree too. I am good at multi-tasking too, at least I thought. But I cannot keep tab of the pressure cooker whistles. 🙂

LOL 😀 Boiling eggs without water!! This reminded me, KG once kept eggs with water on the stove and forgot all about it. After an hour when he sauntered back in the kitchen, there was no trace of water and the saucepan burnt and I had to throw that pan out!
Hahaha, that was such a fun read Raj! Multi-tasking is something I do too, not very adept either. The most frequent victim is milk…always manage to boil it over and spend a good amount of time cursing myself, cleaning the spill!
And for the record I hate pressure cookers, I work with an electric cooker..no hoots to hear or bother with!

My Christmas present from my brother last year was a much-wanted timer on a cord loop to hang round my neck. All I can say is – it works. I haven't burnt anything since!

OMG I cannot for the life of me multi-task the way you've mentioned here.
ROFL for the Alif Laila analogy, that was just mind blowing.
Loved this post 🙂

hahahahah "Since most Indian cooking involves preparing a set like Alif Laila, with smoke and fog and all things blurry, even in cruel winters I used to cook with doors and windows wide open, dressed like an eskimo." I so very well relate to this. I have burnt my Potato Sandwich an hour back today while multi-tasking!!!
My grandmother was hard-boiling an egg for me once, and we got to talking and only stopped when the water boiled off and the egg exploded…
