Now that I look back, I have been chased by a considerable number of species. Be it pesty bees, malicious dogs, enraged cats, angry cows, grumpy goats … even chickens. Look I am an animal lover… love them to bits. But for some reason or other I end up on the wrong side of their Horns.
But the most dangerous of the species are Ducks and their cousins Geese. Mathematics wasn’t the only terrifying part of going to School. The terror started even before I could reach the bus. There were a bunch of white Geese waddling on the road, with puffed chest and sinister looking eyes, waiting for their next target.
Sometimes I would let other children pass so that while they are being victimised I could sneak away. But everyday wasn’t a sunny day. There were days when I had been chased non stop by this quaking family of greys and white. Probably the ducks gained more confidence and power by looking at the Geese, scaring the living daylights out of the human kind.
Yeah childhood was sure fun when an enraged elongated Goose was almost my height. 😛
Along with Claire, Parul and Shalini we have formed an Unconventional Alliance with A to Z co-host Pam Margolis as the ring leader … all set to rock the party

Geese are scary! I'm glad you survived math too.
bring the kangaroos to meet these ducks and geese 😉
Oh dear, I have been bitten by a dog, pecked by a crow and tossed aside by a cow but never a duck, never a duck! Sounds terrifying!!!! Good luck with the rest of the A-Z! See you around!

ha ha! I do that with cows 🙂 Let people pass 😛
Hahahaha 😀
Oh yes, they can get all riled up and get into attack mode. I've seen them going for dogs too!
I have personally been terrorized by a rooster. But this sign that showed up on the door of my boyfriend's workplace one day says it all!

Chased by a cow thats crazy!! Geese have taken over the area that I run in they are a pain in the butt and the nip at your ankles.
And those geese are hissy monsters, too. Big and hissy.
For some reason I pictured you trying to do a headstand, succeeding gracefully (as always), and opening your eyes to be face to face with a goose :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
Lol!! I wonder why they do that 😀

It is like when a black cat crosses your path, you wait for someone else to walk in front of you to take in the negativity 🙂 Superstition, but have seen many do it. Your plight was really genuine, poor thing 🙂
Wrong side of the horns! 🙂 Been there done that. Thankful that I didn't have to walk duck infested paths to school. Small mercies.

Gosh….really ! This reminded me about a incident in childhood when I was chased by a calf. Everything was going smooth till the calf lost it's cool;)
Thoughts…Sushree
I run away from animals like a goose runs away from a bus! I'm just scared of them. I just start squealing am act like a proper idiot. Now you can imagine how I would look if I were to be kept in your situation :p
Good going, Rajlakshmi 🙂
Ha ha.. You have no idea how funny and cute you are..!! I simply love you 🙂
Cheers

Good Post from the memory lane. Loved reading it.
Yes, I agree ducks are crazy but so yummy to eat! 😀 I think Must be auite a scare to find them each day.
My dad was bitten by a swan! Imagine what he was doing while going to school, he held this one poor swan by it's neck and it bit him bad. LOL

Geese are birds with a very strong personality, loyal to their master like the dog and yes, they're pretty aggressive too.
I'd be really scared if I had such aggressive geese waiting to bully me on my way to school.
Loved your take on D 🙂

I still remember being bit by a Goose when I was really young. Probably one of my earliest memories. To this day, I don't get too close to them. They're mean!

Haha! I'm one of of those wicked people too, who would rather hide behind someone when faced with that kind of a situation. Damn those ducks, yeah 😀
Hahaha I am imagining you sneaking away from those ducks behind children… Enjoyed reading you 🙂
Yes, I have heard that before, ducks and geese especially were used by farmers to ward off visitors/strangers. They make good watchdogs but tough luck if you were chased or attacked by one!
Good for you and your good manners….hehehe!

I am still uncofrtable holding any sort of animal. Not sure why I find them nice from far, but seldom like to hold them. And yes I have once been pecked by rooster. And the fear of animals got ingrained in more.
haha.. all strategies .. and the goose of your height must be so scary as a child.
Haha.. Agree with Shilpa. Also the "for some reason I end up on the wrong end of their horns" bit cracked me up.. I'm sorry 🙂 can't help myself. For some reason, I just pictured you as a cartoon character like Elmer Fudd who constantly gets annoyed by Bugs Bunny
I am still laughing st "let other children pass so that while they are being victimised I could sneak away"… smart girl 😀
Haha. The animals love you Raj:) Your post makes me smile.
Loved the post. Stopping by from A-Z
Oh my gosh! I guess it isn't just the loud HONK that can be intimidating. 🙂
