Floral Zentangle

Abs, planks, stretch, core – one after the other we train different parts of our body, but what about the little brain, sitting upright, frowning at all the negligence.

Zentangle is also called Yoga for the mind, an artistic meditation exercise for the brain. It is said to increase concentration, creativity and improves ability to solve problems. Well, what else can one ask for πŸ˜‰ You can learn more here

There are days when my Macbook lies in the corner, my phone in some random part of the house, while I am lost, inking the designs floating in my head. I tend to move into a whole new zone while I am with my paper and pen. So it’s advisable that you start Zentangling after all the cooking business is taken care of, else the hungry hubby might keep pulling you out of your zen mode πŸ˜‰

I find Zentangles an extremely non-fussy way to unwind the mind. My knowledge of patterns is limited, so every time I try to  practice a new design. The repetition of patterns engages the mind.

I even have a Zentangle playlist, songs to be played while drawing. Yeah total tangle Nerd!!

So what are you going to draw today πŸ™‚

  1. what a great word and wonderful technique for the mind! I don't have that kind of artistic mindset, but wow! yours are beautiful! Sorry I am just getting around to this… life has been hectic since the end of May πŸ™‚ but loving this!

  2. These are so intricate and beautiful, Raj! So sure are multi-talented. I can imagine getting lost in the patterns while working on something like this. I am a painter by academics but have not been able to continue practising art. Its really commendable that you are able to do such…yoga, zentangle, photography… awesome!

  3. Exquisitely beautiful and such detail! I no longer draw though used to, i.e, elements of nature like flowers. This looks like fun and wish I had a lot of time to devote to it, though I think I know what you are going to say…. πŸ˜‰ I sure do enjoy your posts, especially your yoga asanas and travel photos…I guess I am not so familiar with your poetry blog…will need to check that out! πŸ™‚ <3
