I have visited the Kiama and Gerringong area just once while driving to Jervis Bay, and ever since, my heart has been set on those luscious emerald hills. So I made it a point to stop by during my Road Trip and enjoy the view peacefully. You can read more about my 8 days Road Trip here – Road Trip Sydney to 12 Apostles
On Day 1 of my Road trip, I walked along Sea Cliff Bridge and stopped by a few more lookouts before driving to Kiama. I was famished by the time I reached the blowhole at Kiama. We stopped for lunch at one of Kiama’s fish and chips cafes before driving towards Mt Pleasant. I had read spectacular reviews about the lookout. It provided a beautiful view of the coast and hills. The lookout was true to its name.
I almost missed the road sign and it wasn’t until I saw the turn that I realized the place was right in front of me.
The dark clouds had gathered afar, and a stray sunlight was peeking from the clouds. The blue sky, and the sea, in contrast to the sprawling green hills, looked like a painting.
I wish I had packed a picnic. There are a lot of scenic places nearby, so driving all the way here isn’t a waste.
The lookout is right on Princess Highway. Keep watching for the sign because if you miss it, you might have to drive a long way before you can take a U-turn. After crossing Mt Pleasant, stay on Princess Highway to enjoy the gorgeous views of the countryside. You will be amazed by the change in scene and the winding roads around the hills.

The colors are so vibrant they look almost unnatural. Still, very beautiful photos.

Looks like the picnic table is in the perfect location!! Really beautiful location and views.
Beautiful scenes, thanks for sharing.
What a great view!
Thank you so much for linking into Nature Notes!!! I love reading about people's traveling experiences because it gives me a chance to sit and visit a place I will probably never see. I have a couple of friends who live in Australia and I would love to visit as justified by your photos. Packing a lunch and stopping along the way is perfect for scenery like this.. Michelle
