Madras Crocodile Park

Ever feel like spending a warm beautiful afternoon, surrounded by thousands of huge scaly crocodiles. 😛 The Madras Crocodile Bank Trust and Centre for Herpetology, located in Mamallapuram (Tamil Nadu, India) is the place to be. It is one of the largest reptile zoos in the world and one of the oldest non government environmental organizations in Asia. It is home to more than 2500 reptiles.
Look at these beautiful creature, so many of them.

And this one looks so peaceful, relaxing under the shade.

Initially the site of so many reptiles creeped me out. I had goosebumps, but then slowly I was mesmerized by their number. I had never seen so many of them at one time.

Can you figure out the three tortoise in the below picture?

Jaws III is one of the biggest attractions of the park. This species, believed to be the biggest in southern Asia, is 17 feet (5.2 m) long and weighs over a ton

Seems he is still hungry, look how he is staring at them. 😀

If you are in Chennai, India, do visit the place 🙂
