The Gobsmacked Syndrome

Theme: Home Affairs of Elephant Warriors

Day 1 A: The Animal Acquisition

Day 3 C: The Comparacion Effect

Day 4 D: The Dandy Dogs Disposition

My brother gets a lot of calls from cattle owners to treat their animals. Once he was called to diagnose a cow, so he went to the owner’s farm, along with his batch-mate. The poor cow was giving milk which was grainy in texture. They examined the cow to determine the cause. Meanwhile, the owner served them snacks and tea.  After the check-up, my brother realized that they didn’t bring any medicine with them, so he called the owner and told him to bring her to the hospital next day.

“We will give her the injections. And please don’t drink the milk until she is cured”.

The owner looked at them, baffled, “You should have told me earlier. I used the same milk to prepare the tea which you drank”.

Gack!!

My sister did her internship in my hometown. I was at home during that time.  Everyday she would take my camera to click pictures of the animals she treated. And everyday I would make her clear the memory and store all those pictures in a separate folder so that I never ever have to look at them. I once did accidentality, and jut lost my appetite for the day.

So one fine day, she comes back, all chirpy and happy, for getting the opportunity to treat some disease. A poor duck had blood in it’s urine. While she was explaining the disease to my cringing family, I took the camera and went out to click some photos for my blog.

Later on she asked me,”Di, did you take the camera?”
“Yeah… Why??”
“Oh nothing”,  she said matter-of-factly, “there was some duck’s blood on it”.
