Octelle – Destiny’s Blow

Life isn’t fair to all… for that matter life isn’t fair to anyone, yet we live through it, struggling through some part while rejoicing the others.

Here’s an Octelle for A to Z Challenge
Dimlit Lamps along icy streets
Neath thundering, a shanty creaks,
She turns on her wobbly bed
Lying next to kids unfed,
Options are soon running low,
Gloom rides on destiny’s blow
Dimlit lamps along icy streets
Neath thundering, a shanty creaks

The Octelle, created by Emily Romano, is a poem consisting of eight lines using personification and symbolism in a telling manner. The syllable count structure for this verse is 8, 8, 7, 7, 7, 7, 8, 8, and the rhyme scheme is aa/bb/cc/aa. The first two lines and the last two lines are identical.
