Snowy pristine wings of flight
Amber Eyes – curious and deep
in the realm of wizards and witch
    lived an owl named Hedwig
Owned by “The boy who lived”
    fighting monsters and evil,
    Hedwig soared along with him
    to defeat the nascent devil.
    Be it behind Ford Angelina,
Or delivering messages to Dear ,
a toad in it’s copper beak
    and pecking Harry’s ear,
    But one fateful darkest night
in the Battle of Seven Potters
    it died a heartbreaking death

a killing curse by Death Eaters

Poetry Jam – The prompt at Poetry Jam is Owl, and the first name that came to my mind was Hedwig ๐Ÿ™‚ the gorgeous Snowy Owl from Harry Potter series ๐Ÿ˜€

  1. I love Harry Potter; always will, read all the books – some twice, collected all the films. My kiddo also loves the series. What a lovely tribute your poem is! Thanks for dropping by my nook.

  2. I absolutely love this. I have met the Hedwig from the film – at Britmums Live last year ๐Ÿ™‚ Fabulous poem.Thank you for linking to Prose for Thought x

  3. Absolutely LOVED this! I am a big Harry Potter fan, and since the films love owls. They are so cool. Brilliant poem and great tribute to one beautiful bird. โ™ฅ

  4. Having Harry Potter own such a beautiful owl as Hedwig was a great idea on J. K. Rowling's part. Kids love pets and an owl evokes magic and mystery.

  5. my oldest was big in harry potter…we read all the books…watched all the movies..i am sure he would have had me write about hedwig as well…having and owl like that would be pretty cool…imagine being in that aviary with all of them…
