“He may not love me anymore”, she thought, “but he sure does love her”.
You can’t get away from yourself by moving from one place to another. Adreema realized it now and hoped that it wasn’t too late.
The sound of waves crashing along the shore broke her reverie. Her feet dug further into the wet sand as she watched her 5 year old daughter bonding with Tushar. Tushar was just as nervous as she was. The ice broke when little Lili asked him if he would play with her in the water.
Adreema’s ugly breakup with Tushar had made her take their daughter away from him. For four years she lived in anger, travelling, working hard to mend their lives and her heart. She had closed all options for Tushar to meet Lili.
Last few weeks she had been pondering over the past and the bitterness inside her. But today, Adreema knew she can forgive.
She walked towards her car to check her mobile. As expected, Abhinav had called.
38 missed calls in 10 mins! She wondered what was going on.
“Hey I have been trying to reach you”, he said as soon as he picked up the phone, “How is it going?”
“Going good. Lili seems to like him”.
“More than me!!!”, he asked. She could feel a tinge of jealousy in his voice, which actually amused her.
“C’mon you don’t have to feel insecure. You know how much she loves you.”
“Yeah she does”. They both knew it was true.
Watching Lili and Tushar from a distance, Adreema hoped it was the right decision. Finally, she can move on.

A beautiful story beautifully expressed! Well done Lakshmi.
This is a slice of real life. Nicely written. Loved the way you joined both the prompts into a post. 🙂
lovely…when we forgive some one, we actually get rid of all the pains and bitterness that distort our perceptions towards people and circumstances and lead to troubles.
Moving on with the kid or without?? 🙂 Good that you are able to convey so much emotions in about a 100 words. Me too need to practice this.
Destination Infinity
Short, profound and crisp! And, emotions have been portrayed so well! Keep them coming!
Cheers & God bless…!!
