Foodie’s Delight – Japanese Cuisine in Sydney CBD

Here’s my second post in Foodie’s Delight Series 😀
The first one is here
My experience with Japanese cuisine wasn’t so good when I first tried it in Chennai, India. But in Sydney, I have no apprehension in trying new cuisine every time we got out for lunch.
I had my first proper Japanese Food in Sydney as a Farewell Lunch for one of my colleagues. My teammates and I went to Akaneya Japanese Restaurant in Sydney CBD. Since it was my first time eating here, I ordered only the dishes I had known about.
Here comes the Salmon Sushi
I ordered Miso soup and
Chicken Katsu Dong. The order included salad and sticky rice too. Delicious!!!
Location:
The Restaurant is at Kent Street, Sydney. The Darling Harbour bridge is just across the road.
My other favorite place to buy a quick bite is Hero Sushi at Townhall Station. I absolutely love their Soft Shell Crab Sushi Roll. Here’s Smoked Salmon and Crab Sushi 😀

My current favorite place to eat Japanese Food is Miso Restaurant at World Square Sydney. They have amazing Bento Box (including vegetarian) and their Teishoku is absolutely drool-worthy.

For Friday lunches, I often visit Sakura Japanese Restaurant in Sydney CBD with my colleagues. It’s one of the popular places in CBD which tends to get crowded quickly on Fridays. The Ramen with soup (including meat of your choice or Tofu) is one of the most liked items and I often go for one of these.

  1. indeed great images! I am hungry too for sushi now 🙂
Did you make sushi at home? you could post the recipe and preparation here!

  2. My husband and I LOVE Japanese food. The last time we went to a sushi-bar in London was about 5 years ago. It's hard to decide what to order with all the wonderful things on offer. I like sushimi best of all.

Let’s keep the conversation flowing!
