[Villanelle] Emptiness of Fear

A Villanelle is a nineteen-line poem consisting of a very specific rhyming scheme:
aba aba aba aba aba abaa.
The first and the third lines in the first stanza are repeated in alternating order throughout the
poem, and appear together in the last couplet (last two lines).
Sneaking into emptiness of fear,
haunting queries of the night,
Will I see you again, my dear?
By the side of sparkling mere
promises sigh a yearn to unite.
Sneaking into emptiness of fear,
Destiny was too sincere.
Smirking at my treacherous plight,
Will I see you again, my dear?
Though I no longer hear,
Silence of subterfuge fight,
Sneaking into emptiness of fear,

Savoring yester’s  souvenir
in hope to relish flights of delight,
Will I see you again, my dear?
Finally when the mist clears,
shadows of time lurk despite.
Sneaking into emptiness of fear,
Will I see you again, my dear?
