beginner 30 minutes body workout

Never miss a Monday workout

I read this quote a long time back and conveniently ignored it too. But at that, time little did I realize how this one quote was enough to set my mind on track. No-one likes Monday, it is unfortunate that the day falls right after the most wonderful of the weekdays – Sunday. But I kinda like Monday, it sets in motion a whirlwind of activities that I plan to complete over the week. Did I ever tell you that I am a list-a-holic? I even have a list to figure out what lists I should make.

This is for anyone looking for an easy workout with no equipment – a breakdown of beginner 30 minutes home workout.

Anyway, as I said Mondays set the tone of the week and it’s imperative that you rule the day like a boss and workout like a beast. OK,  my workout moves are nothing like a beast, but at best it gets my heart racing 🙂

First things first: get an awesome playlist! 😀

30 minutes – home workout for beginners

Warm-up your body by jogging, walking, stretching, or marching at one place.

100 jumping jacks, alternating with cross jumping jacks.

2 sets of 10 side skater

2 sets of 10 lunges on each side

200 fake skipping jumps – since I lost my real jumping rope.

2 sets of 20 squats

2 sets of 25 mountain climbers

30 secs of side planks on each side

Monday workout routine - plank

1 set of 15 candlestick dipper on each side … my most favorite Blogilates move 😀

2 sets of 10 side to side plank hip twists

plank hip twists

20 reverse crunches

30 seconds of reverse planks

10 side kicks on each side

10 front kicks on each side

10 donkey kicks on each side

10 knee push-ups

Normal push-ups as many as you can do.

And done. 😀

This is followed by  15 minutes of cooling down yoga poses and stretches. My favorites are spinal twists and pigeon poses.

This is what I did yesterday as well. After which I heated crispy taco shells, filled it with tomato, avocado and onions and ate them to my heart’s delight. Psssst… I  smashed down a gulab jamun too. No, you don’t have to do this as well. Hope you found this breakdown of 30 minutes home workout for beginners helpful.

Let me know your workout plans in the comment section. I would love to know and be inspired to try out something new as well.

  1. You are incredible, Raj. And I do agree that Monday is the day when I will always workout. For me, it is either strength training + HIIT or a 5K run. I throw in some Yoga too. 🙂

  2. Ok its official – I hate you!!! 😉
Man you take the cake with the cherry and the icing and actually the whole bakery!! Are you human? This is such an action packed workout; how did you build it up is what is the secret and what you should work on blogging about; I will follow it to hell and back as I have been trying to get into shape since ages (read years) but the lazy me had fantafab excuses….. Sigh!!
    You rock super woman!

  3. Wow! That’s incredible. You are awesome.
Like you, I also love Mondays. I get to go to work and begin my week which makes me happy. I work out 5 days a week and I usually do yoga. Started running too but can’t do both so either one works. But working out makes me happy 🙂

  4. RAJJJJJJ!!! Aapke charan kahaan hain? 😀
I too love working out every day, and I agree, that an active Monday morning sets the tone for the rest of the week. At times, I do feel too lazy, but since some time now, I have been working out even on Sundays. If there is pain in the back/knee then I do the yoga exercises that give me relief. But, mostly, it’s Yoga for me in the mornings (beginning with warms ups and moving over to the poses that work on my flexibility) and a brisk walk for 45 minutes in the evening. And, I never miss it, except if it is raining.
Hey, we ought to meet some day…I need to bow down before you, you Wonder Woman!

  5. This post is just way too wow! I’ve been following a pretty decent exercise regime and I’m happy that it is showing results. Hearing about the candlestick dipper for the first time. It looks simple and perfect for those pending stubborn love handles of mine 😛

You rock, Raj! Maybe put up a diet plan too next time 🙂

  6. Raj I love you girl. Love that spirit, love that dedication and yes love your tongue in cheek humour. Your blog always energises me and leaves my face plastered with a never ending smile. 😊
That’s one helluva workout plan. I was off the radar; not totally but partially due to my back injury but crawling back slowly but surely. Three days of strength training. Two days of running and one day of long distance cycling- minimum 50 k, but more the better. 😊
But usually it i cycle say 70/80 k on Sunday I take Monday as a rest day. Or just go for a walk.

Your work out plan is fab and I’m going to book mark it. Thak you ❤️
