Yogasana: Wild Thing #atozchallenge

My theme for this year’s  #atozchallenge is – 26 Yogasana. So brace yourself for 26 days of stretching, backbends and inversions, as I take you along my upside down evenings, sincerely hoping that you will find these posts helpful 🙂

Camatkarasana or Wild Thing

The Wild thing or Camatkarasana is one of my favorite yoga poses. A beautiful chest opener, where you are opening yourself to the world, letting go of fear and inhibitions. During my early days of practice, I used to keep falling out of the pose because it was so hard to balance on one arm. But slowly, with practice, I can now hold it for numerous breaths, feeling the stretch in my back, shoulders and legs. If you too struggle balancing, then practice this pose near the wall. Don’t forget to warm up with a couple of Suryanamskars.

Here’s a video on how to get into a Wild thing pose from Downward dog.

  1. You know my back hurts when I try it with one hand and here you are, doing it so seamlessly with one hand!
No wonder, we all call you rubber woman!

    Cheers

  2. I began my suryanamaskars today again, Raj and I kept thinking of you and your poses to motivate me. It’s true that our stories and sharing them, really really help. Thank you for being my biggest inspiration.
