Fitness : Mixing it Up

Do you see something new here ๐Ÿ˜€ Yes,ย I am self hosting now. After 8 years and 800K page hits, I finally took the plunge and got my own space. It took me a week to configure every thing and get this site up and running. Let me know how it looks because I am really nervous about the new design and everything ๐Ÿ˜€

Since this is my first post in myย new site, let me start with something I am passionate about. Here’s a video I uploaded on Instagram, mixing things up – Yoga and Plank Variations for a stronger core. ย AnytimeAnywhere No equipments kind of workout. I love 5 minute plank challenge with variations, each for a 20 sec rep. Side planks, Commando, Knee to Elbow, Cross Plank, Hip Twist, Superman, Spiderman, Jump planks … the lists goes on. You can include any of these, hold for 20 secs and then move on to the next one, for 5 minutes. Sounds easy right! ๐Ÿ˜›

Mixing it up – Planking and Yoga for a core workout. Anywhere. Anytime. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€ . . I love doing 5 minute plank challenges but with variations… Each for a 20 sec rep. I struggle so hard to hold a normal plank for over a minute… It burns… Really burns ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ˜‚ adding variations keeps it more interesting ๐Ÿ’ These are few of the variations that I love doing. A strong core makes yoga inversions easier to hold and keeps your shoulders, spine and neck safe. . Let me know in the comment section which is your favorite plank variation ๐Ÿ˜€ . . . . #video #fitnessvideo #yogajourney #lifestyle #happiness #fitlife #strong #yogaeveryday #yogagoals #yogaathome #nogym #practiceandalliscoming #fitwomen #inversionjunkie #homeworkout #fitnessjourney #workoutvideos

Remember my clumsy Fallen Angel Pose that I posted few weeks back. After a lot of face-planting and falling over, I finally got it straight ๐Ÿ˜€

I participated in Fancy Arms February Challenge on Instagram – 7 days, 7 arm balances. Each day the awesome hosts would give a challenge pose orย its variation and all the participants would post their pictures doing the pose. Here’s my collage in all the poses (clockwise)- Tolasana, Fallen Angel, Baby Crow, Side Crow, Flying Lizard, 8 Angle Pose and Koundiyasana

This month I am doing the #stretchRevolution challenge by the amazing @Blogilates (Cassey Ho). I really hope I remain consistent and finish it ๐Ÿ˜€

Have you set your fitness goals yet?

  8. Hai Raj,

Congrats on getting self hosted. Just loved the new look of your blog. Beautifully designed and the header image was so amazing. I really envy about your poses.

  9. I did not concentrate on fitness (except for walking) when young and am paying the price now – as is my mother in law, at age 89, with constant falling. Keep on doing what you are doing. It is awesome!

    1. Thank you so much Alana. I wasn’t into sports while growing up. Now compensating for everything ๐Ÿ˜€

    1. Thank you so much Mayuri, you comment made me feel so good ๐Ÿ˜€ glad you liked the new design ๐Ÿ˜€

  11. Wow, Raj! I am in constant awe of your flexibility and I loved your video on Insta. I have been working a lot on my core strength. Core muscles become quite weak and lose after pregnancies. I keep going to improve my core strength and am happy with the results. Nowhere close to yours, of course. Congrats on the new blog look and self hosting. It looks great. May you continue to thrive.

    1. Thank you so much Rachna ๐Ÿ˜€ It’s only when I started working out I realized most activities require a strong core, be it swimming, yoga, gymnastics, squats, lifting… and that’s when I started working harder on it. Glad you liked the video. ๐Ÿ˜€

  12. I was checking out your IG post just a minute back and totally loved it. The core strength makes it look easy but I know how hard it is. I can’t even do usual chaturangas. ๐Ÿ™ Gives me a hard time.

Coming over to the site – I love the images – the header design and that you have used the widgets very well. Good one there. Btw – 800K views. I jaws are just lying somewhere unable to get back to position ๐Ÿ˜›

    1. Oh the Chaturangas… Give it some time and you will be chaturangaying all the way ๐Ÿ˜€
thank you so much. Glad you liked the site. I was so sad that I would lose all my views and will have to start from scratch. Well, you gain some, you lose some ๐Ÿ™‚

  13. I liked the core/plank challenge you did…pretty cool! Especially liked the push up with one knee — must try that. I’m constantly in awe of your core and upper body strength with all your yoga poses. Kudos to you! My fitness is coming along slowly and steadily. Hoping to reach my goal weight in 2 months but more importantly, get fitter and stronger.

    1. Yours is the first comment in my new site ๐Ÿ˜€ Thank you so much Sanch and I am constantly awed by your determination and weight workouts ๐Ÿ˜€ Wish you good luck in your journey ๐Ÿ˜€
