WTF Wednesdays – Fashion of Bagel Head

I am no fashion guru, I am happy with my 6 year old jeans, un-tattooed arms and frizzy hair. But Japanese folks are class apart. I just love these people. Their innovative style sense makes my skin crawl out of my body.

This is the latest fashion trend in Japan – The Bagel head. No no no this is not a disease, it’s the divine art of body modification, where for some cockamamie reason, they decide to sport Bagel on their forehead.

Remember how our parents used to say “Bhoosa bhara hai dimag mei bhoosa“, thank god, we didn’t decide to take it in literal sense.

To form a Bagel head, a technician would inject saline water in your forehead and once the swelling in big enough, they press their thumb in the middle to make the bagel shape. The transformation is temporary and lasts for just 16 hours. Bravehearts can watch this video to know how it’s done.

This can become a huge hit with Indian women. Why you ask!!

Imagine when the parents are forcing their daughter to meet a greedy prospective groom. She can immediately rush to the nearest Bagel head clinic, get it done and tadada… while offering tea, she can offer some bagels too…right from her forehead 😛

Imagine, a single lonely girl, who’s planning to travel overnight by train, that too in general compartment. She can get a couple of bagels on her forehead and arms and board the train. The passengers might actually light incense sticks and offer prayers thinking her to be a Devi OR they might just empty the whole compartment, fearing alien invasion.

Look at him and you will know what I mean.

If you want to rebel against your parents but your shredded jeans, short skirts and dragon tattoos are having no effect…go for a Bagel head. One look at your temple would shake the eyebrows off their face.

By the way, if you are seriously into rebelling against your parents, get some corset piercing or Angel wings. Would match perfectly with your Bagel head. 😛
